All along i have been procastinating that NSPIs (National Service Probation Inspectors) aren't that deserved to be such high-achievers and today i have gotten a classic example to show why. Now now, have i cleared your misunderstandings to their acronyms? That P does not stand for POLICE, instead it is PROBATION. In gist, probation is = 'so near yet so far'. I really wonder how these OCTs where chosen, they should have inputted the quality of "EQ" to the list, perhaps this would have been a better selection. Come to think of it, NSPIs(OCTs) are OCS-REJECTS, so if you are comparing standards, Police will have been given a sub-standard share of talents.

I can't stop seething. The vehement hostility in me towards NSPIs has reached another stage.

So i shall now briefly provide this background story which will lead to the climate later. In my police headquarters, all NSFs are supposed to perform a so-called 'guard duty' for at least 1 week each. So coincidentally, i was scheduled to have my duty this week. For your infomation, NSPIs were treated as kings in headquarters so their duties were to ensure the NSFs(ppl like me) did actually go down to perform our duty, be it in the morning or during lunch break. Because of my mc for these 2 days, i was unable to execute my role hence being responsible, i sms-ed this young chap NSPI called Justin Goh. Below is the exchange of SMSes. Have fun reading them ;)

ME : Justin. Yushu from ops dept here. Tml n wed i cant do my duty bcuz im on mc. Juz went ttsh 2 c doc cuz both my arms r super itchy due to red spots. Sorry 4 e trouble. Hope u uds.
J.G : Take care & get well soon, but i dun believe tt u can't do duty due 2 mc. Depends on whether one wants 2 or not. Anw, i swapped duty w NSPI Fan Weijian fr logs.
ME : Thanks for your concern. Sorry to disappoint you, im really sick dis time round n e medication will make me drowsy. Btw if ur on mc, do you noe that by going out n cont duty, u can b charged? Nt 4getting ur an NSPI, i believe u'll know. And you sure have a funny way of seeing things. Informing u is my responsibility n a way of courteousy and respect to you. Yup so I'll cont my duty on thurs n fri so dun worry.
J.G : I'm refering 2 things in general. Wouldn't it b nice if u told me u wanted 2 do duty even though on mc, & i would commend u 2 ur boss. Anw, have fun scratching.
ME : Save your compliment dude. If you are that free, you can also complain to my boss that i refuse to do duty while im on mc.well im so glad kenny, andrew, glamis are in ops and not you.oh nt to worry, e medication does e magic :) thx 4 ur concern anw.

So after reading through these smses, do you have the same curiousity/thoughts as me to find out who is this intelligent piece of chap and where was he from previously? I really want to investigate the background of this psycho-possible dude that has incurred the wrath of me. What will be your reaction/reply if he has sent you the very 1st msg? With that tinge of sarcasm in it, i really don't think its that necessary if he thinks i was slacking. Really have no idea what's going through his mind, perhaps he just eager to display his power as a NSPI, and as if i will be promoted to SC/SSGT if he has complimented me in front of my boss or if, they will add more meat into the packaged food i have sincerely requested them to help me purchase since they went out for lunch? My boss would have probably called me NUTS to be doing duty while i'm on MC. Ahh, that would have been the outcome, ain't it? An idiotic workaholic who wants to show he can work till he dies? lolx.

But honestly, the 1st impression doesn't come from these series of messages. That particular monday morning itself, i have already tasted the appetizers of his bittersweet character. My duty was in the noon from 1230-1430pm. At 0906am, while i was walking towards Novena's Twin Towers (which is actually my place), he called me and gave me a gentle reminder that i have duty that afternoon. Ok, this is good and i've gladly accept his reminder because at least it proves he doing his job. But then the conversation went into a nasty twist when he asked me where was i after i had replied no to his question of "Are you in office yet?" I think thats super redundant to inform you my whereabouts like i'm your dog. (ok i should not decimate myself to be such low-level type of species, but i can't see a purpose to be reporting my tracks to him when i'm scheduled for afternoon shift.

So feeling quite pissed about it, i carried this vengeance throughout that 2 hrs of duty i had @ noon. And this mysterious young man finally revealed himself (we had only communicated through email and phone) by approaching me when he went out for lunch. So there was this other moment which triggered off my venom when he was back from lunch. He asked if i have had lunch, and i replied "no" in a *bo-chap* manner particularly because i was still fuming over the morning's encounter with him. Then he say i can play around with my bosses after my duty and gain their sympathy to go for lunch. At that instance, i was thinking "hellO, i am here longer than you were, and i know how to play the rules of the game better than you." I don't find it helpful to be offered such advice when my stomach is empty and yours burping satisfactorily. He could well instead buy me maybe a $2.50 packet of rice with 2 vege and that will be most appreciated by me, instead of stepping on my toes and spamming me with his impractical suggestions.

Is that what NSPIs are capable of? Laughing at people's miseries? They are paid a hundred bucks more for that kind of service excellence we are discussing about?

Fuck off. Come back only if you have the capability pls.
