People always say a man can never be lucky twice consecutively. Or in short, not everytime your attempts will be 'Sunday'. However, i've seem to break the deadlock by passing my ORD Shoot today with the help of the Range Instructor there @ tracom :) I still can remember vividly that during my BPT, i did manage to get 2nd class thanks to my Range Instructor then. But i had to admit the help last time was in a way more appreciated by me of the 2 separate incidents. So i had my ORD shoot just now at 2pm with the hope of achieving marksman + $200. Had to fire 60 bullets in total. The 1st 10 being the trial shots while the last 50 is to be calculated for the score. Let me explain how the scoring system works by describing the target we were to aim. So the cardboard is actually imprinted with a man that had a rectangle in it. For shots that puncture the inside of the rectangle + head, we get 2 points each. For shots that embed the rest of the body, we earn ourselves 1 point each. And last but not least, a big '0' for shots that missed the man. Dividing the 50 actual shots into two parts (which i have forgotten the terms for them unfortunately), we should get 24 points for the 1st part (20 shots) in order to cross the passing mark and 36 points for the 2nd part (out of a possible 60points a.k.a 30 shots). 60-69/100 will be 2nd class/pass, 70-79/100 will be 1st-class and 80 & 80+/100 will be marksman. The 1st 10 shots as i have mentioned earlier are trial shots and these shots really tighten me up, like having butterflies in the stomach, because i have only 6 shots in the man. Well to be frank, out of the 6 shots that i was able to get into the man, only 2 were worthed 2 points each. All my shots were clustered to the left side of the target and this dropped me a clue that i had to aim slightly to the right alignment for the 50actual shots. Well, the next 20 shots, i only scored a miserable 5,7,8. Ok, i have to explain myself again. The 1st number is number of shots that went missing/missed the man. The 2nd digit represents the shots that went into the rectangle/head while the 3rd number is shots that pierced the rest of the body. However, i wasn't informed or should i say i had totally forgotten how the scoring system works so the fact that i scored 22 points did not sink into my head i have failed my shooting. The remaining 30 shots i scored slightly better which is 3,20,7 = 47 points. By right, 47 +22 = 69, i should pass! But for the 1st part, 24 is needed to be considered pass hence the bottom line is a shame yet so beautiful. Fail any 1 part, you fail the whole shoot. But when i was about to face the harsh reality that i failed by signing against the score, the Range Instructor whispered to me "2nd class". I was really flabbergasted since in my heart i had swallowed the anguish down painstakingly. I shouldn't delude myself that i fail my shoot. But since god is here to offer his help, why not then? Alright, i shall just pretend i pass my ord shoot, though right now while punching these keys, i know it wasn't what i deserve.

Hmm, guess i was rather long-winded for this entry on ORD shoot. But on a more positive note, the 1st month of isolation has passed successfully except for the fact that i fell sick on 16th july(my 1 mth of isolation). Right now, have to recap on what i have to do and what i have done. But honestly, i doubt i have completed major objectives like having 6 packs on my body or whatever that deemed a huge clap on my shoulder for my success. But i guess some things we just have to take one step at a time. But most importantly, we have to be consistent and not let the slow pace of comfort ruin our determination and perseverance.

I have embarked on my cooking lessons at CC. But of course, do not be fooled by the sentence above as there is something that i must share with you all. Cooking lessons in CC will not let you have a practical part of it. Basically what you actually learn is through taking down notes and watching the trainer's demonstrations. Yea i can tell you to be a effective cook, 80% of the success comes from the practical piece of work and 20% is due to effective memorisation of the steps to take. Up to this day, i have attended 2 cooking lessons - 1 on agar-agar making as well as the other on making 3 mouth-watering western dishes. Apologies for no colourful pictures attached here for your viewing, i'm not a photo-taking lover. Its pretty unglam to see all the aunties in the classes stomped the front and took pictures of the ingredients, the equipment frenzily. But i can't deny these pretty visuals actually do help in the preparations of the dish at home. Some interesting facts include in the dessert-making class, out of 27 students, i was the only guy and the rest are aunties. Terrible, isn't it? But i had to take down my pride and put on a spurious smile to hide my embarrassment. However i do enjoy my western-dishes class last sat as you know its quite a romantic feel to prepare Italian Spagehetti with creamy white sauce for your ideal partner on Valentine's Night. Ok thats ambitious but i'm bursting with fervour for the day to come.

And yes jasmine, i will be honoured to cook for you. But then as a precaution, please do prepare a bottle of stomachache pills =P

For fitness-wise, i have decided to cut down on carbo-intake and increased my protein/calcium intake by reducing my rice content and drinking more milk. Realise that running and swimming aren't good enough to reduce the spare tyre in my stomach :X Well, its quite obnoxious in a way to me that my belly will "bulge out" when i bend down or sit down. Those men health covers are way too menacing because the more i think of it, the more i cannot resist the temptation to burn off those irking lumps of fats. However, this year i manage to complete my Saucony River 4.4km Run without stopping under the intense heat. Well, people may jeer that 4.4km is so short, but i beg to differ because Yushu is never bornt a sportsman. and indeed its an accomplishment for me acknowledging the fact that my daily morning runs have paid off. I went to gym daily but then i just failed to make any considerable impacts on the shape and size of my arms. Will revise the methods soon through heeding tips and advice from mens' health. In addition, i just love swimming in Bukit Batok Home Team NS because its free and effective. To think that i have a lifeguard license previously in secondary. How cool is that. But till date, it has expired and performing CPR now will be an arduous task.

Lets see, i shall now talk about a more boring topic which is academics. Had not done anything much to improve my english except reading more books. Currently, i'm glued onto a fiction book titled Bangkok Eight by John Burdett. Its a blasting combination when the West meets the East and the storyline is really intriguing that you will not ever think of putting the book down. Hmm thats sound so cliche isn't it? Like some conventional advertisement selling off their products. But thats me with low standard of english. Oh is doing exceptionally well for econs too. Coming to Market Failure soon and that is the last topic for year1. Its an unbelievable tale as i took only 1month for a year of work? hmm, but then i guess i should have poured in more effort to link and apply what i have learnt instead of being satisfied by the individual concepts that stands on it own respectively. On another note, i have completed several self-development books that have groomed my thinkings maturely.

There are more milestones to be further discussed. But then i guess the next entry you will see me narrating on my dance course @ Tanglin CC, karate course @ Toa Payoh East CC and areas of improvements as well.

I know all these things were too late. But i also know that if you do not try, you'll never succeed.

I`VE MARKED IT:D
