Few years back, if you told me i'm too chee-na, i probably would just give a cold shrug.

.
.
.
.

And now i guess i have became more skeptical towards such comments.

In view of such despondence arose from such trivial matters, i have begaN to move towards a more bilingual state by the below means.

  1. Read english newspaper/storybooks everyday.
  2. Check dictionary for unknown vocabulary i've came across.
  3. Practise english grammer assessment books.
  4. Communicate in English whenever i remember hopefully =P
  5. Buy english albums to listen and read the meaningful lyrics.

I did all those till there was this moment in office where i revealed signs that i have forgotten how to speak proper chinese.

There was this task assigned to me to call up the companies to find out their address so that we can send invitational cards to them to invite them to attend a security briefing cordially organized by ISD & SPF. So after speaking in english politely to the receiver at the other end of the cord, he said something like "你可以华语吗?"

I was like O.0! My mind was in a frenzy when i realised i had to repeat what i just said in chinese.

So i nearly forgot how to translate Singapore Police Force into chinese. -.- And of cuz i still did not have any clues how to properly address "security briefing" in chinese. Any1 care to tag me the right translations pls? Worse still, when i wanted to ask him for his company's postal code, i had to struggle for quite sometime before muttering "那个六个号码" :O Oops, i know i deserve to die. But i can't recall the last time i actually wrote the word ''.

So this was me, a typical cheena person that has forgotten simple chinese.

I'm sorry, i have to be realistic i guess. Pretty girls usually speak english now (nono mich i'm nt refering to you, say me meanie, blame urself for saying ur unbeatable :P ) So i told you i will work towards being a more ang mo pai person.

Yes mich, thanks for complaining i was a cheena person. Your criticism has prompted me to work even harder to be what i actually want. Don't worry people, i will not lose my originality or nationality or whatever. Just that when i thought about the notion of "erosion of our mother tongue language", it just pipes me up a lil. Guilty perhaps.

So yes i love english. Oh no, i'm not acting. I do love english *cross my finger*

Having slight fever now. maybe i will get a MC tml :) Most imptly, happy 25th birthday to my 2nd sis!
